Břeclav is an important center of Podluží. Characteristic folk costumes still inspirit numerous ceremonies, such as Sunday worship, Easter feast or other traditional feasts; they can be seen quite frequently and amaze the visitors by a wealth of colours and embroidery produced by skilful and hardworking hands of local women. One of the most distinctive elements of Podluží and its folklore is a folk song and folk dance. A number of songs today enjoy a nationwide fame thanks to the singers of the region – Jožka Severýn, Jožin Černý, František Studénka, Julie Severýnová-Kučerová, Květa Černá or Malčica Sisters, and thanks to ethnic ensembles - Břeclavan, Podlužan or Starobřeclavská muzika. Famous songs for example include Za Starú Břeclavú u tej boží muky. The most important folkloric events include Hudecké Days, during which every year in late November the building of the cultural centre is filled with the best cymbalo music from the wide area of Moravian Slovakia, or St. Wenceslas Festival.
However, the Břeclav cultural offer also has a different face: for example regular exhibitions in the Municipal Museum and in the Gallery.
