These circuits of 15.5 and 27.5 km lead over level terrain on asphalt surfaces and field trails. Short sections of the route follow a busy international highway, so be very careful there. The route is well marked throughout, and there is an information panel with map and route diagram. We recommend trekking and mountain bikes for this trail.
The local route leads around the upper and middle Nové Mlýny reservoirs and passes through the Pasohlávky recreation area. It goes around the Betlém swamp with its stands of reed and willow, around the remnants of the natural floodplain forest near the confluence of the Jihlava and Svratka Rivers, to the Strachotínský Pond. From there it continues along the dike between the upper and middle reservoirs to Dolní Věstonice, where you can visit the archaeological exposition with finds from the era of the prehistoric mammoth hunters, and a cross section of the soil that yielded them. From Věstonice you continue along the bank of the middle reservoir to the locality Na pískách, an important Slavonic burial grounds, and then onward to the grounds of Pohořelice Fisheries, from which the small circuit takes you back to the original trailhead.
The large circuit continues along the bank of the upper reservoir, over the Dunajovický creek and the irrigation statin, to Brod nad Dyjí. Here you can take a side trip to nearby Drnholce, a village with a Renaissance chateau, Baroque church, and 16th-century town hall. The route continues to the wine village of Pasohlávky, with the largest recreation center Podpálaví. The route continues to the wine village of Pasohlávky, where you will find the largest recreation center in the Pálava Hills area. The circuit ends with a number of alternatives. One is the newly-built promenade along the bank of the reservoir and the ATC Merkur campground, for which admission must be paid. If a cyclists wishes only to pass through, he has 15 minutes free to do so. The second alternative goes along the road and paths past the Mušov wine cellars.
