If you like monuments, the Uherské Hradiště region will not disappoint you. It belongs to places where people have settled since the ancient times. Decisive evidence can be provided by numerous archaeological localities and findings from the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. The most interesting objects include stone Králuv stul (King's Table), which might be a part of an ancient sun calendar. However, the most renowned findings are the archaeological findings from the era of Great Moravia. You can find more about this remarkable era in Staré Město in Památník Velké Moravy (Memorial to Great Moravia) "Na Valách". People even speculate that the grave of St. Method was found in the locality Uherské Hradiště-Sady "Špitálky". In the Uherské Hradiště region, you will also find one of the best preserved medieval castles - Buchlov and attractive chateaux Buchlovice or Nový Světlov. The Hradiště region can be proud of true jewels of church architecture with the dominant Basilica in Velehrad or cloister complexes in Uherské Hradiště or Uherský Brod. The area is very rich in folk architecture sights. Farms, mills, fruit drying shops or wine cellars can be seen e.g. in Topolná, Vlčnov, Mařatice or Veletiny. Memorial reservations in Uherské Hradiště or Uherský Brod also deserve your attention.
